B. Indicate decking plant deck profile dimensions, supports, projections,
openings, and reinforcement, finishes, pertinent details. and accessories.
A. Deliver products to site under provisions of Section 01610.
PART 2 PRODUCTS
2.01 ACCEPTABLE MANUFACTURERS
B. Store decking under provisions of Section 01600 on wood sleepers
with slope for positive drainage.
C. Substitutions: Under provisions of Section 01600.
A. Sheet Steel: ASTM A611, Grade C, primed.
B. Bearing Angles.: ASTM A36 steel.
C. Welding Materials: AWS Dl.l.
D. Cell Closures: Closed cell foam rubber, one inch-thick, profiled
to decking. See drawings for areas of application.
E. Primer: Red oxide type.
F. Touch-up, Primer: Red oxide type.
A. Metal Decking: Minimum 22 gage thick sheet steel, 1-1/2 inch high,
24 or 36 inch wide sheets; multiple span;lapped joints.See drawings for
areas of application.
PART 3 EXECUTION
B. Fabricate metal decking in accordance with SDI Design Manual for
Roof Decks to accommodate maximum working stress of 20,000 psi and maximum
span deflection of 1/180.
C. Fabricate roof sump pan of 14 gage thick sheet steel, flat bottom,
sloped sides, recessed 1-1/2 inches below roof deck surface,bearing flange
3 inches wide; watertight
A. Erect metal decking in accordance with SDI Design Manual for Roof
Decks. Provide' welding in accordance with-AWS Dl.l.

B. On steel support members provide 1-1/2 inch minimum bearing. Align
and level on supports.
C. On masonry support surfaces provide 6 inch minimum bearing. Align
and level on supports.
D. Mechanically fasten male/female side laps at 18 inches on-center
E. Fasten deck to steel support members at ends and intermediate supports
F. Reinforce deck openings from 6 and 18 inches in size with 2-1/2
x 2-1/2 x 1/4 inch steel angles. Place angles perpendicular to flutes;
extend minimum two flutes each side of opening and weld to deck.
G. Install 6 inch wide sheet steel cover plates where deck changes
direction. Spot weld in place 12 inches on-center maximum.
H. Install sheet steel closures and angle flashings to close openings
between deck and walls, columns and openings
I. Install foam cell closures in locations above walls and partitions.
J. Position roof sump pans with flange bearing on top surface of deck.
Weld at each deck flute.
